Great gameplay, but from my viewpoint, the increased consumption of GPU resources is disappointing for the results. Codemasters got sloppy with DiRT 4 it appears. DiRT 4 isn’t my cup of tea as it tries to combine main DiRT series and DiRT Rally into one game. This sub isn’t really a fan of the main series, it should really just be called r/dirtrally. The main DiRT series is arcadey and is based on different kinds of off-road racing.

Single 970 results in the tests were in the 70s on average and never dipping below 60FPS in minimum.Ĭompare ^that^ to the 970 results at only 1080p of this game. The Rally games are great, but not for everyone. About the same for Grid Autosport as well. VRAM allocation according to Afterburner was around 2.2GB max. It is extremely easy on the GPU and at 1440p maxed out everything and 4xMSAA, the built-in bench with my SLI 970s overclocked to 980 reference performance showed ~120fps average. Yeah this is a disappointment compared to DiRT Rally which I was an early access adopter of. We would have liked to see higher-quality textures, more particles, and a greater effort put toward shadows/lighting." The graphics are very nice and a slight upgrade from DiRT Rally. DiRT 4 Review Overview Genre: Racing Rating: PG Release Date: JPositives - Incredibly immersive - The racing, including all of the options and settings leading up to the race are a huge improvement over DiRT 3 - Your Stage is a great new idea giving the game endless hours of fun. "The game’s graphics engine isn't extraordinary, and its visuals are merely acceptable.
